WHY SENSORY PLAY?
Sensory play isn’t just fun—it’s foundational. Research shows that sensory experiences help babies and toddlers grow physically, mentally and emotionally. By engaging with diverse textures, shapes and materials, little ones develop the skills they need for more complex learning.
Our sensory classes are child-led, ensuring that children are free to explore at their own pace, guided by their curiosity and interests. This approach not only honours their natural developmental rhythms but also keeps them engaged and joyful throughout the session.

HOW OUR SENSORY CLASSES WORK
Weekly Sessions
We deliver interactive classes to Nursery, Toddler and Junior rooms.
All Materials Provided
Each session comes with its own sensory theme (e.g. texture, shapes, movement).
Developmental Science Explained
We connect the dots between play and development, offering clear, research-based explanations during the class.
We adjust the timing and pacing of our classes to suit children’s attention, interests and needs. Flexibility is key—we work around your centre’s schedule.
Take the Learning Further
Each Sensory Box includes a detailed write-up on how the materials support children’s development, which educators can incorporate into their daily parent updates (such as StoryPark). For centres with specific themes in their programming, we’re happy to create matching sensory boxes when given enough notice.

How does it work? Each week (for 8 weeks) we meet via Zoom to work through the chapters of Circle of Security together. The program consists of a combination of videos, exercises and group discussion. We spend time between sessions digesting, reflecting and practicing what we learned the week before. Each week we invite you to share your ‘Circle Stories’ because once you learn about 'The Circle' - you start to see it everywhere in daily life with your little ones. Please note that weekly sessions are not recorded so we can maintain privacy and the integrity of the group nature of the program. This is a guideline from Circle of Security International. If you know you will be away for one of the weeks, you can contact me to arrange a catch up session.

What do we learn?During the course of this perspective-shifting program, you will: Understand more about your child’s world and learn to anticipate their emotional needs Be better equipped to help your child feel and manage their emotions Gain confidence in your parenting and improve your child's self esteem Learn to honour your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure
-
Who is it for?Parents of children aged 0-5 years who want to gain confidence in their parenting, strengthen the bond they have with their child and reflect on the ways in which they were parented. If you have a history of a complex family dynamic, mental health challenges, abuse or neglect - please consider that therapeutic support from a registered health professional may be more appropriate for you.
-
How much does it cost?$440 AUD* If you'd love to join us but now just isn't the best time for you, pop your name on the waitlist to be the first to know when the next round is announced! *Payment plans are available.
-
How long are the sessions?Sessions will typically go for about 1 hour - some sessions are longer than others.
-
Can my partner join?Absolutely, but they have to be all in, committed to coming each week, willing to listen, learn and share - just like you are. To make sure we protect the integrity of the group space, everyone needs to feel as though we are 100% in this together. If your partner will be joining, make sure to let me know on the booking form after you sign up.
-
My baby is still little, it is ok to join?Yes! The Circle is happening from the minute you meet your baby (actually, from the moment you realise you're pregnant). Some of the things we talk about become more relevant or obvious as your child grows, but the earlier you know about the Circle the better. Starting off on the right foot can make all the difference when it comes to your relationship with one another.
-
Can I still come if I don't have childcare?Navigating life with small humans is tricky! Whilst it will of course be easier to concentrate and engage when it's just you, you can absolutely still join if your little ones are with you. When in group, just make sure to hit the mute button whenever you need to!
-
Is there a self-paced option?Unfortunately not. Circle of Security was designed and is intended to run as a group program. The beauty of this program is through reflection and group discussion, where we bounce ideas off one another and bring our thoughts, fears and feelings to the table.
-
I can't make this round, when is the next intake?I'm still finding my feet in running this program, and with a small family of my own I don't yet know how often I'll be able to deliver it. If you can't do this round but are definitely still interested, please join the waitlist and I'll keep you in the loop!
-
Is there a payment plan option?Absolutely - please email me at hello@scienceminded.org if you would like to organise this.
